Remember December

Hey Y'all it's Courtney here, and today I am sharing my layout for Remember December. So I haven't fully decided on how I am going to house my layouts. I am thinking of punching holes and adding rings, I am definitely doing travelers notebook sizing.  This is a double page spread that I created for day 14, its the day that my youngest turned six months old. For this spread I used the  December Kit  that Cassie created. This kit made it so easy to make these pages and it’s so perfect to go along with any of your stash or hoarded Christmas items.  I did add a few things from my stash and most of it was from  Illustrated Faith . I hope you feel inspired and I can't wait to see what you post in the Facebook group!

Wish Upon a Star

Hey, Y'all Courtney here and today I'm showing Y'all a look at a mini album that I created for the #makeawish challenge.  I decided to go with a mini album for this challenge. There are several videos on YouTube that show you the dimensions and how to create it.  I just YouTubed folio the album and I tweaked it to what suited me. I absolutely love how this turned out! When you first open the album it's a gate fold, and each page has a 4x6 flip out for a photo or journaling. I mixed Echo Park's Magical Adventure and Simple Stories' Say Cheese lines to complete this album.  The front has two inside pockets that are perfect for 4x6 photos or extra keepsakes and the first page is great for journaling and a photo. The next few pages are set up an as good decoration or awesome places to add photos. This album is packed full of photo space.  Under the right flip out you have an accordion pocket and the left of that you have the p

Scraplift Sunday week 3

Hey y'all, Courtney here, and it's my favorite day of the week! It's #scrapliftsunday and this week we are lifting the awesome Becky, and I'll have her layout below as well. Here is my layout, this lift was so fun to recreate. For this layout I started with the background paper from the August Kit , its the Galaxy Quest paper from Echo Park. Then my additional papers are from the  Simple Stories Cabin Fever Collection, as well as all of the embellishments.  My title came from the amazing August kit as well, theVicki Boutin font was perfect for this layout. My little guy decided that I needed the enamel dots, and he added them for me.  I think he did a pretty awesome job!  Here is the layout that I recreated that Becky made. Her layout was so fun, and it made it easy for me to lift. Can't wait to see what you create in the group!

Spooky Crew - Free Cut File

Hey y'all, Courtney here, today I am sharing what I created for the #freecutfile challenge. For this layout I used the adorable free file Web background.  I hand backed every web with paper from Bella Blvd's Spooktacular , and the background paper is from Crate Papers Confetti line. I used one of the adorable tags that I made in September, I thought it was the perfect little easy touch. The thickers that I used were from Crate Paper's After Dark. I decided to pop up the web from the background with a thinner foam tape, I thought it added the perfect dimension. I had so much fun using this cut file to help document Harrison's First Halloween Hopefully you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by, and make sure you tag @paperissues on Instagram to show us what you created. Also make sure you are in  Paper Issues Friends and Fans group on Facebook.  As always, you can use the code Courtney to save 20% in the shop!

Swanky Swatches

Hey all, Courtney here, today I am sharing my layout for the #swankyswatches challenge.  Y'all, this layout was so fun to create! Sometimes I overthink everything and try to hard to make things perfect. I keep reminding myself that its not about perfection, and its about the memories. For this layout I knew that I wanted to use the August Kit , and my watercolors to get the colors that I loved from the swatches.  I took inspiration from the brush and brush strokes also. Here is a look at what I created I used the white sheet of cardstock from American Crafts that Cassie had included in the August Kit as the base of my layout. I used a wider bristle paint brush to give it a more brushed look, and I mixed my own colors to come up with this combo. I think they turned out pretty close to the swatches. After I had my ground work down I started pulling embellishments from the kit. I used the cut a apart sheet because it was perfect, I doodled the lit

Little Ras-skulls

Hey y'all, its Courtney here, and today I am sharing my layout for the #LittleRas-skulls challenge. This challenge is all about how you are celebrating your "Little's" this month. I am a very literal scrapbooker, so I had to use a picture of my little's, and use ALL of the little embellishments. The August Kit was perfect for this challenge. Cassie included some amazing tiny embellishments in this kit, and I may have gone a little crazy adding them to my layout.  Everything that I used came from this kit, except for the yellow ruffle under my picture, that was a bag that came in a past swag bag. My kit has been laying on my table for a few weeks just begging me to use it, but I was honestly so scared that I wouldn't do it justice. I have shuffled the papers and embellishments more than a few times, and then pushed everything to the side again. I finally grabbedTide my picture and the background paper, and just decided to not think

Learning Curve From A-Z

Hey y’all it’s Courtney here, and today I am sharing my layout for the Learning Curve challenge .  When I saw this challenge I knew that I wanted to use the paper and stickers from Photoplay Paper line called Real Genius. I also used a lot of old My Minds Eye scraps. The tile #Dream is from Pebbles, and the word big came from the Cool Kid Thickers. I really didn’t have a ton of the papers that I really wanted to use, so I decided to grab the   A to Z cut file  from the shop.  This cut file is really intricate, and tried cutting it a few times before I found the perfect setting for my Silhouette. Here’s a picture that I snapped of my settings. Hopefully these settings work for you as well!  Don’t forget to head over to the  Paper Issues Friends and Fans  to join in on all of the fun challenges.

Scraplift Sunday Lil Dude

Hey everybody, it’s Courtney here, and today I am sharing the layout that I created from this weeks #scrapliftsunday.  I was so excited to finally cut into the  Simple Stories line  Lil Dude . This collection is so dang cute!  I was also able to sprinkle in a few elements  from Crate Papers Cool Kid. I’m so in love with this blue background, and how adorable is that dog?!? I used a couple of the 12x12 sheets, the die cut pieces,  puffy stickers, and the 4x6 elements.  The Young n Brave title is one that I have been hoarding  from the Cool Kid Collection.  Here’s a look at the awesome original created by Devra.   I adore her hand written journaling, but I went with the tiny word stickers. Those things always manage to find a place on my layouts. I think my favorite part of her layout was the angles that she created with the two smaller background pieces, they were fun to recreate.  I can’t wait to see how you play along with the group.  Make sure you tag #PaperIssues on Instagram as we

Hello America- PageMaps Sketch

Hey ya’ll, it’s Courtney here, and today I am sharing a layout that I created based on a sketch by  PageMaps .  Here’s a look at the sketch I was provided with.  This sketch made me think about my  Fourth of July pictures that I’ve been waiting  to scrap.    This is what I created I used the adorable Land That I Love line by  Pebbles . I used two 12x12 papers. One as a border, and the other as a mat to my photograph. I also used the sticker sheet, and the border sheet. I created this photo cluster on the app  Pic Frame. I set it at the 2:3 ratio, and chose the 6 photo layout. I also made my border a little larger in order to get the border I wanted.    I print with my Canon Selphy, and use the Canon print app.  When I use it, I print with a border, and then  I cut my picture a little past the perforated edge  that’s on the print. This gives me the  best border around my photo.  This layout was so fun to use. Make sure you  ch

Summer Lovin’

Hey y’all, it’s  Courtney  here, and today I’m sharing my layout for the August challenge #Summer Lovin’. I was excited to do this layout even though I don’t have a ton of fun Summer photos for this year since I just had a baby in June, but I do have a few that need to be scrapped.   I wanted this layout to be super bright and fun.  I knew that I wanted to use the adorable Summer Lovin’ by  Doodlebug Design . I used the 6x6 paper pack to mat the awesome  triangle burst  cut file from the shop. All I did was add an offset, and cut it in white. I hand cut all of the mats, which didn’t take to long, and was worth it.  I used the super cute cardstock stickers, some of the glitter sprinkles, and a few items from the So Punny sticker sheet to add the cute little touches to it. As for the title I went with the “Shine On” from the Vicki Boutin  All The Good Things thickers.  I’m so in love with the way this turned out! I think the colors are perfect, and it turned out

Getting Messy

Hey y’all, it’s Courtney here, and today I’m sharing my layout for the Working with Watercolors Challenge.  I really loved getting messy and using a few different types of paints to create this layout.                             For the mixed media I used three Tim Holtz distressed oxides in cracked pistachio, peacock feathers, and salty ocean. I also used tattered rose in the original distress inks, as well as a hot pink and purple in my cheap water color set. Of course you can’t have a mixed media page without  Heidi Swapp gold color shine.  As for the paper and embellishments I used a combination of Imagine That Girl by Echo Park and Stay Colorful by  Dear Lizzy. I also used this  gorgeous flower   cut file from the shop. I hope you play along with the group, and I can’t wait  to see what you create.

Paper Issues- Scraplift Sunday

Free File Fun

Hey Friends!  I’m up on the blog today sharing what I’ve created  with the fun free cut file  You and Me .  This awesome file was so easy to use, and I loved  backing it with a few different    Papers by Crate Paper .  I thought they went perfect with the file cut out  in black, and I added a few fun Crate Paper embellishments. I kept it pretty simple, but I don’t feel like this layout looks simple at all.  Thanks for stopping by! I can’t wait to see what you create with the June Challenges.  Don’t forget to use the code Courtney when you pickup goodies from the  Paper Issues shop .

Paper Issues- Dad's Are Rad!

Hey Friends!  Today I am up on the blog sharing my layout for the  Dads Are Rad challenge.  I absolutely loved creating something different  then what I typically do, and when I saw this challenge, I knew exactly what line to use.    Dad Style by Bella Blvd  was just perfect  for the look I was going for.  I used a combination of the 12 x 12 paper Grandpa's Pocket Watch to fussy the cut the clocks,  and I popped some of them up on foam tape.   I used the sticky sheet to add all of the awesome words to describe the Rad Dad in my life,  and then the border sheet to add a little balance  to the page.  The background paper is already distressed looking,  but I couldn’t help myself and had to add a little  Heidi Swapp color shine in gold.  Can’t wait to see what you create with the June Challenges!  Don’t forget to use code Courtney when checking out to save money on all the new collections in the store.

Free Cut File Fun

Hey all, today I’m sharing a fun layout that I created  for Paper Issues challenge free cute file.  Free you say? Who doesn’t love  free?!? Today I am showing you what I created with a free cut file from the shop.  For this layout I used the free cut file  thick paint alpha . I absolutely love using cut files, they make your stash stretch even longer!  I cut my letters out at about 2 inches, and then backed each one with Bella Blvd’s Secret of the Sea 6x8 paper pad. As for my background, I did a little mixed media work using some of the  Tim Holtz distress oxide’s .  This was such a fun layout to do, and I can’t wait to see what you create over on the PIFF Facebook group.

Paper Issues-Scraplift Sunday

Hey lovelies, today I am up on the blog sharing what I created for Scraplift Sunday. For my layout I used  Wild Heart by Crate Paper . This collection was so much  fun to use.  Everything except the fussy cut flowers and puffy gold hearts came from the Wild Heart line. I just love how the green and pink went to together so well.  For this Scraplift we lifted Kelly’s awesome layout.  Can’t wait to see how you play along!
