You Are Loved- Simple Stories

YOU ARE LOVED! Hey y’all! Courtney here and today I am sharing the layout I created using the So Happy Together collection. This is such a beautiful collection and I wanted to put every single piece in the collection on my layout. I decided to go with a free cut file from Paper Issues so I could use a ton of patterned papers. For backing my cut files I used a variety of pattern papers from the 6x8 paper pad. I love having the smaller prints to use with cut files. I cut my actual cut file on the Happy Heart paper, I am obsessed with anything polka dot and black and white. I cut about an inch ½ inch on each side so I could layer the beautiful Our Story paper behind it. After I filed my cut file, I began laying a ton of ephemera, chipboard and stickers. There is a ton of great images and tiny word phrases. I layered a 4x4 photo that I trimmed down to fit onto the gingham 4x4 card and then I layered it onto the My Family paper. Then I finished my cluster with a w

Happiest Season of All- Simple Stories

THE HAPPIEST SEASON OF ALL! Hey y’all, Courtney here. Today I am up on the blog sharing a layout that I created using the Holly Jolly line. I used two 12 x12 sheets of paper to create my background, Holly Jolly and Peace and Joy. I layered a few of the papers from the 6x8 paper pad behind my photo to add a little more color. Then I used a ton of the gorgeous florals from this collection to frame out my photo. I wanted to use all of them, but I decided I should save a few for another layout. I used the florals from the ephemera pack, the combo sticker sheet, the 4x6 sticker book, and the chipboard.  For this layout I decided to create two clusters. One is a combination of ephemera, the combo sticker sheet, and the 4x6  sticker pad as well as one of the adorable paper bow clips that coordinate with this collection. I just love all of the snow globes and wanted to incorporate one in this layout. My second cluster is centered with my 4x4 photo. I used this adorable ph

Happy Holidays- Simple Stories

HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Hey y’all Courtney here. Today I am sharing a layout that I created with the Say Cheese Christmas Collection. This collection is so adorable with all of its icons. I love matching my kiddos up to them. For this layout I used two pattern papers to create my background. I used Magical Holidays and Sweet Memories. The layering that I did here was a happy accident. I had just put everything on my desk and was starting to pick embellishments. I saw how I stacked my papers and loved it. I trimmed them down and layered them on to a sheet of black card stock. I then began to create my clusters using the ephemera, chipboard, and combo sticker sheet. I layered everything up to frame my pictures. I finished my layout with a cute little cluster in the top corner to help balance out the layout. I then began to create my clusters using the ephemera, chipboard, and combo sticker sheet. Naughty or Nice- Simple Stories

NAUGHTY OR NICE! Hey y’all Courtney here. Today I am sharing the layout that I created using the fun Holly Jolly line. This collection was perfect to document a few pictures of two of my littles writing letters to Santa.  I decided to go with a grid layout to create my little scene. I used a 4x4 card from the SN@P cards to help balance my 4x4 picture. I backed both of those with a green stripe paper from the 6x8 paper pad. I also used two of the 2x2s from the 2x2 element sheet. My background sheet Winter Wonderland is cut down to 10x 10 and backed on the Seasons Greetings paper. I used the fun candy stripe bow in the corner along with the cute ornament sticker from the combo sticker sheet. I added some tabs from the combo sticker sheet and popped up a few of the ephemera pieces to add dimension. Then I added the fun green enamel dots to finish the layout off. I hope you like the layout and are inspired to craft some Christmas pictures!

Christmas Greetings- Simple Stories

CHRISTMAS GREETINGS! Hey Y’all! It’s Courtney here with another layout and today I am using Country Christmas. This collection is so beautiful and vintage. It’s has the perfect Christmas colors. I used the 6x8 paper pad to punch my 1 inch circles, I love how the prints are smaller and you get more in the circle. I paired those circles with all of the ephemera that I picked out and set it up  diagonally. I added a few other pieces of ephemera to add detail. I used the Christmas Greetings from the mini sticker tablet. The background paper is the Scarlet/Dots paper from the Simple Basics Kit and it’s cut down by ½ inch on the sides so I could layer it on the 2x2 element page.  I fished the layout by ripping two spots on the top and bottom and adding some gold splatters. I hope you get inspired by this layout.

You and Me- Simple Stories

YOU & ME! Hey y’all! Courtney here again and today I am sharing a layout that I created using Autumn Splendor collection. This collection reminds me of my child hood. We always had these amazing vintage calendars in our house and every year when they were done my mom would cut them up to use as ephemera or decoupage the cutouts on something artistic. For this layout, I used  a cut file from Paper Issues called You and Me and cut it out in black to make it pop off the page. Then I backed the cut file in Seasons if Change, the B side of the 4x4 elements, Grateful Hearts, Autumn Leaves, and the b side of the 2x2 elements. I used the Elm/Cream Ledger paper from the SN@P Basics as my background. I matted my photos on a piece of vellum and then on the Grateful Hearts paper. I layered them on either side of the cut file. I created three clusters with another cut file from Paper Issues called Collecting Leaves that I cut out of the Turquoise Dots paper. I then layered d

Hey Pumpkin- Simple Stories

Hey y’all! It’s Courtney again sharing the absolute perfect fall collection! Fall Farmhouse is the perfect collection to scrapbook my fall family portraits. Fall Farmhouse has everything I love in one collection, floral, Buffalo plaid, polka dots, and pumpkins. For this layout, I decided to go with the  Lil’ Pumpkin  paper and I used the beautiful buffalo plaid that is on the B side. Next, I layered three papers,  Simply Thankful ,  the b side of   the 4x6 element’s , and the  peach dot  Paper. After I layered those papers then came the fun part of adding all of the fun elements. I used the mini   sticker tablet , the  journal bits and pieces , the  bits and pieces , the   6x12 chipboard ,  the  enamel dots , and the  combo sticker sheet I matted two 4x6 photos and then began with embellishments. I alternated my pumpkins with foam tape or just regular adhesive. I loved mixing all of the different types of embellishments to give my layout a layered look. I tied everythi

Adventure Outdoors- Simple Stories

ADVENTURE OUTDOORS! Hey y’all! It’s Courtney here sharing the layout that I created using the awesome Happy Trails collection. This collection was calling my name with all of the amazing colors and icons it has to offer. I’m really into the mustard yellows, aquas, and oranges right now. Here’s a look at the layout that I created. For this layout I knew I wanted to use a cut file and I knew I wanted something like mountains or triangles to give me that mountain look. I went with a cut file that I have actually used before, but I went a different direction with it, literally. This cut file is a free file from Paper Issues and it’s called It’s Geometric. I turned it sideways and backed it with a few of my favorite pattern papers. I cut this one out in white so the colors would really pop against it. I added some dimension to the cut file with foam tape to help separate it from the background. I printed three photos out for this layout and I was originally only going

Scary Cute- Simple Stories

SCARY CUTE! Hey y'all! It's Courtney here! Today’s layout is made with the amazing Happy Haunting line. How fun is this line? When I saw it I knew exactly what picture I wanted to use. For this layout, I cut out 2-inch strips that varied in length. After that, I randomly placed them on the background page which is Utterly Spooky. I used a few different pages for the strips. I used both sides of Hocus Pocus, Fright night, Bootiful, and the 2x2 elements. I used some black crate paper, the bat border sticker, and the spooky house border sticker to add some different dimension and texture to my pattern. All of my clusters we're a mixture of the chipboard, the combo sticker sheet, the icon bits, and pieces, and the Happy Haunting journal pieces. I embellished each cluster with the small enamel dot from the Spring Farm House collection. I added a tab, tiny word sticker,   and a flower to my photo from the combo sticker sheet. I hope you are inspired to

Scraplift Sunday- Paper Issues

Scraplift Sunday  Hey y’all it’s Courtney here and today is my last post as a design team member. I’m forever grateful for the time I have gotten to share my work with all of you, but never fear! I’ll still be around sharing what I create!  For today’s layout I am doing Scraplift Sunday, and we are lifting the amazing Kelly.  Here’s a look at my finished layout  Here’s Kelly’s original that we are lifting.  I used the Sunny Days collection by Crate Paper with a picture of my kiddos from our recent beach trip.  I really love how this layout came together, The colors are so perfect!  My title is a combination of the 6x12 sticker sheet and the Thickers and I think the title says it all. I went with the half circle shape like Kelly, but I made mine a little wider because of the title. Each cluster is a combination of a phrase, an icon, a piece of glitter washi, and a heart.  The paper cluster behind my photos is just some scraps from some

You Can Have Tis or That- Paper Issues

You Can Have This or You Can Have That Hey Y'all! Courtney here sharing the layout that I created for the  This or That  challenge. This challenge screamed for me to make a July 4th layout when I saw to use red, white, and blue. I have been holding onto the Fourth of July collection from  Pebble's  that came out last year, and I knew that's what I wanted to use.   Here's a look at the this or that list to use on this challenge.  For this layout I used one 12x12 paper and the border sheet. I cut each border piece into a 6 inch long strip and just randomly placed them. I love doing layouts like this when I want to finish off scraps or I want a ton of patterns that aren't to much in your face. I chose to go with two 3x4 photos that I layered on two different mats, I used some of the pocket cards that I knew I wouldn't use on another layout. This collection is full of silver, so I went with using it. I added some glitte
