Secret Squirrel Sisterhood Society Cigar Box Swap

Hey ya'll, so I am so excited, I was able to join the most fabulous group ever! I am now part of the Secret Squirrel Sisterhood Society! I have been lurking in the shadows for a little while now, watching videos and I have searched a million  images of these fabulous cigar boxes. Well for the month of July, Jade posted that the theme was a "Oh La La Paris Wish Box." Well needles to say, this one screamed my name! I thought black and pink all the way, and I knew the perfect paper line for this project.
I chose the Echo Park paper line Be Mine, yes I know what you  are thinking, this IS one paper stash that I have been hoarding, and when I say hoarding, I mean I have 5 packs of the 6x6 stack, and one of the complete 12x12 kits, and about 15 of my favorite 12x12 papers. So after I knew the paper line,I decided to go with the dress from girly look. I love Teresa Collins as well, and she was my inspiration behind the rolled flowers. All of the flowers except the 3 brown ones and the background paper are all from the Be Mine Collection. The small flowers in the corner are Prima flowers, and the bling pearls are Recollection (found at Michaels.) I also used a Tim Holtz ornate plate and inserted the word "Wish".
I painted the base of the box in a cream color and went over it with Tim Holtz Black Crackle paint. After all of that dried, I went back over it with modge podge. I didn't want to have the crackle peeling off. I took a cream ruffled trim around the entire lid, and added black rosette trim to the front. When all was said and done, I needed a clasp, so I opted for a beautiful Fleur de lis.

Hope you all enjoy!

You Are Loved- Simple Stories

YOU ARE LOVED! Hey y’all! Courtney here and today I am sharing the layout I created using the So Happy Together collection. This is such a beautiful collection and I wanted to put every single piece in the collection on my layout. I decided to go with a free cut file from Paper Issues so I could use a ton of patterned papers. For backing my cut files I used a variety of pattern papers from the 6x8 paper pad. I love having the smaller prints to use with cut files. I cut my actual cut file on the Happy Heart paper, I am obsessed with anything polka dot and black and white. I cut about an inch ½ inch on each side so I could layer the beautiful Our Story paper behind it. After I filed my cut file, I began laying a ton of ephemera, chipboard and stickers. There is a ton of great images and tiny word phrases. I layered a 4x4 photo that I trimmed down to fit onto the gingham 4x4 card and then I layered it onto the My Family paper. Then I finished my cluster with a w...

You and Me- Simple Stories

YOU & ME! Hey y’all! Courtney here again and today I am sharing a layout that I created using Autumn Splendor collection. This collection reminds me of my child hood. We always had these amazing vintage calendars in our house and every year when they were done my mom would cut them up to use as ephemera or decoupage the cutouts on something artistic. For this layout, I used  a cut file from Paper Issues called You and Me and cut it out in black to make it pop off the page. Then I backed the cut file in Seasons if Change, the B side of the 4x4 elements, Grateful Hearts, Autumn Leaves, and the b side of the 2x2 elements. I used the Elm/Cream Ledger paper from the SN@P Basics as my background. I matted my photos on a piece of vellum and then on the Grateful Hearts paper. I layered them on either side of the cut file. I created three clusters with another cut file from Paper Issues called Collecting Leaves that I cut out of the Turquoise Dots paper. I then layer...
