Hey Y'all, Courtney here and today I am sharing the layout I created for the
Ad-spiration challenge that Paper Issues has going for the month of February.
Ad-spiration challenge that Paper Issues has going for the month of February.
Here's a look at the inspiration for my layout.
I was inspired in so many ways by this ad. First off, I am obsessed with the color yellow this year.
It
has been my color of choice for the past few months. I was also
inspired by the circles and just the overall vintage feel that I got
from this add.
Here's what I created:
For
this layout, I started with cutting circles with my Sizzix. I had
planned to scatter them like they are in the add, but I needed more, so I
went through all of the free cut files available in the shop.
I finally settled on Going in Circles cut file.
I had so many ideas with so many different cut files, I may have to re-visit some more of them.
I cut the file out at 10x10 so that I could back it on a 12x12 white paper. I wanted the white to come through everywhere that I didn't back a circle with paper or a sticker.

I
chose the Say Cheese 3 line from Simple Stories to create this layout. I
feel like it had the right amount of yellow and vintage type colors. I
backed several of the circles, but not all. I then took foam tape and
popped everything up around the edges. A few of the circles are backed
with stickers from the planner tablet and the 4x6 sticker set. I only
had the chipboard, 8x6 paper, the sticker tablet, 4x6 stickers, and the
cut-aparts for this line, so I did a lot of fussy cutting. My title is
from Vicki Boutin, her phrases are absolutely perfect and I could
totally use 10 more packs. Everything on this layout is popped up with
pop dots. I really wanted everything to pop off the black background.
This
adorable photo is of my littlest babe, it's his seven month photo. I
thought this was the perfect picture to document. I cut the photo out as
a circle as well, but when I tried to add it, I felt as tho it was
getting lost against the background. I was going to reprint it, but of
course this was my last sheet of photo paper. So I had to work with what
I had and I love the end result. I backed it against some of the
cut-aparts, made a tab that I added a tiny word sticker to, and
embellished all around it.
I can't wait to see what you create in the Facebook group and on Instagram.
Thanks for stopping by!
